Entertainment services are going to reduce the debit

In this period a lot of person must stay at home. As a consequence, the internet trafic is increasing. Spokepersons from the different companies spoke about a solution to reduce this trafic. A Netflix spokeperson told that European Netflix trafic will reduce about 25% to provide a good quality service for all the members. Moreover, a Google spokeperson added that Youtube continue working with member state governments and network operators to minimize stress on the system.

As reported by Sandvine, an American networking company, video streaming account for 60 % of the global internet trafic. Netflix and Youtube account for 24 % of this 60%. Different networks companies are also seeing different kinds of increasing on the network, 75% for the gaming and 30% for the VPN connection. For the moment, no problem have been reported.

Professor Leung asks everyone to be careful to the internet overload. And to ask yourself if you really need to do a live video conference instead of recording a video which consume less internet.
