Amy Schleunes, an intern at the Scientist newspaper, wrote an article about growing vegetables in space. This article was written the 9th of March 2020. NASA designed a vegetable production system, a sort of space vegetable garden called Veggie for astronauts.

A study published in “Frontiers in Plant Science” shows that lettuce can grow safely in weightless environments. The goal is to diversify astronauts diet. Gioia Massa, a plant scientist who works for the NASA said that the unique challenge was to watering plants in space properly. Veggie is not bulky and very convenient. It can contains up to 6 plants. A kind of little pillow contains fertilizer with clay, water and of course a seed.

The space lettuce is almost the same as Earth lettuce. NASA’s lettuces contain more phosphorus, sulphur, zinc, sodium, potassium and bacteria. The astronauts seems very happy to grow and eat fresh lettuce. The NASA thinks growing vegetables in spaceship could be very useful and vital for longer missions.

The participant are epileptic and already had electrodes in their brain. The goal for the artificial intelligence is to associate word with electric signal from participants brains. During this experience 50 sentences were read while brain signals and audio went into a learning algorithm

First results were very inaccurate, because an AI needs time and more samples to learn. But with time the IA increase its accuracy. For example the IA understand «the ladder was used to rescue the cat and the man» as «which ladder will be used to rescue the cat and the man». This technology could be used for silent person or with someone who has a locked-in syndrome.

NASA would like to deliver a cargo to a proposed station in orbit around the Moon called the Lunar Gateway. The company asked other companies to make the delivery. Finally, the Elon Musk’s company Space X won the contract. Last years, the Falcon Heavy has proven himself. This rocket will deliver spacecraft called the Dragon XL to the station.

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine says : “This contract award is another critical piece of our plan to return to the Moon sustainably”. Mr Bridenstine added : “The Gateway is the cornerstone of the long-term Artemis architecture”. The main goal is to discover more in the deep space and to prepare a mission for Mars.

This project costs 7 billion dollars for logistics supply and hire a company for the delivery services contract. Space X will earn a lot of money on this contract. But the first missions flight will not be before mid 2020s.

A Netflix spokeperson told that European Netflix trafic will reduce about 25% to provide a good quality service for all the members. Moreover, a Google spokeperson added that Youtube continue working with member state governments and network operators to minimize stress on the system.

As reported by Sandvine, an American networking company, video streaming account for 60 % of the global internet trafic. Netflix and Youtube account for 24 % of this 60%. Different networks companies are also seeing different kinds of increasing on the network, 75% for the gaming and 30% for the VPN connection. For the moment, no problem have been reported.

The principal target of the hackers is the hospital. When there are life in danger, the victim are more willing to pay the ransom. The DCH Health System in West Alabama was attacked in 2019. The hospital had to decline new patients incoming.

In 2018, 1493 victims were reported. The total losses is estimated at $3,621,857. The number of attacks decrease but the losses increase. Allan Liska, a senior solution architect at Recorded Future, warn on the fact that ransomware can be only a distraction carried out by nation state attackers.

Finally, the American will have to be careful with the future election because the vote system can also be vulnerable to ransomware.

The goal of the Li-Fi is not to replace the Wi-Fi, the PureLifi CEO explains that Li-Fi and Wi-Fi are complementary. He argues that in the future Li-Fi, Wi-Fi and 5G will give the greatest possible speed and bandwidth.

Li-Fi increases the security of the other RF technologies. For example, the light cannot pass through walls, so your neighbors cannot access to your data easily. It could help a lot of domain like finance or pharmaceutic where the data have to stay private.

As said previously, the Li-Fi will be very simple to deploy in a house. This will be as simple as plug a bulb in a bulb socket. This universal socket will help to connect our world a bit more.
